I used the counter top stone as a threshold for the entrance to the kitchen.

By giving the stone an arch/curve, we were able to make more work and entertainment space and by opening up the wall above the counter just a  little bit more, we were able to bring more light into the area.

We installed 4' retro-fit pot lights in the ceiling and put it on a dimmer switch.

We made the upper cabinets 14" deep for the purpose of square plates.

The Herringbone backsplash tiles tie the whole kitchen together beautifully, especially in combination with the designer grey cabinets, the counter top stone, and the 12x24 grey floor tiles.

Fun fact: this is the first time I have done both a soap and lotion dispenser.
